Just something I wrote during my morning quiet time a little while back.

    1. Awwww, thanks Vashti. Not really a poem though, just some thoughts I jotted down. I saw a watercolour technique on Youtube that I wanted to try out, so that this is the result of that curiosity. Hahaha. I love mixed media art. Even more so when I can do it myself and base it on something I’ve been pondering.
      Have a super weekend.
      🙂 ❤

    1. Ohhhh, hahaha. Yes, I guess I did, didn’t I? Just some thoughts jotted down a little while back.
      Have a great weekend.
      🙂

    1. Hahaha. Yes, she’s happy. I love the girls.
      Thank you so much Elizabeth.
Have a great weekend. You gotta make the most of the summer while it’s still around eh.
      🙂 ❤

      1. Lovely weekend to you too, now each second counts, I’m trying to be outside the maximum possible to enjoy the last few days of summer. Hugs to you! PS: I’m listening to your songs right now, so beautiful.

      2. Oh yes, I remember the gruelling Canadian winters. Have a blast.
Really? You listened to my songs? Awww, thanks Elizabeth. I used to do musical theatre way back in the day, however that was a loooonnnnnngggg time ago. I don’t really sing much anymore, but every so often I come up with a song. Hehehe. Actually, I have a friend here that told me to record my voice with new songs I have and send them to him so that he can put the music to them. Who knows, maybe we’ll have some new songs to share soon.
Thanks again Elizabeth for the kind words.
        🙂 ❤

      3. Yes Staci, always when I visit your blog, I play the songs, and I keep them playsing in the background when I visit other blogs. You should go ahead with your songs, you are good!

      4. Really? Wow! I’m thrilled that you do that, and that you think I’m good. Thank you so much Elizabeth. I’m actually quite shocked. My husband always tries to encourage me, but I always have a difficult time thinking I’m all that good. You’ve really encouraged me by telling me that. Thanks again.
        🙂

    1. Thank you so much Natalie. I know you also love mixed media art, so I’m so glad you ‘love’ this piece.
      Love and hugs
      Staci ☺💕

    1. Awwwww, thanks Neha. I saw this water colour technique on Youtube I wanted to try. Thought I’d marry the art and words. I am glad you like it Neha.
      ☺💕

  1. Lovely lines, very profound…very well crafted picture. Such thoughts can only come in the wee hours when serenity is at its best. The choice of word “time and space”, escape me, one of the paradox of life we all live with where we never understand the mystery of time and space.
    Have a great weekend.
    Take care!!!
    😀

    1. Ohhhhh, I just saw this comment now. For some reason I’m not getting many comments in my notifications.
Thank you so much Nihar. It’s funny because the older we get, the more we realize that our ‘time’ here within the realm of ‘time and space’ is sooooooo short. It seems like yesterday I was a child, and all of a sudden, I’m 41 years old. Hmmmmm. Middle age already. I can’t be living my life only for what Earth offers, with these parameters of time and space. My life means so much more. Wouldn’t you agree?
I hope you had an amazing weekend, my friend.
      Take care.
      🙂

      1. Yes Staci…age is catching up and as we reflect back, we don’t know how to react. So many things and many things we don’t do as we grow old, is there a right time to do certain things and beyond an age we should not do these things…isn’t it an irony, we all have one life and in that we phase things and limit our options, we should try everything and at every age , yes with proper working.
Age for me is just a state of mind…
Having a nice week, hope same with you…
        take care!!!
        😀

  2. Love your art, Staci. Love the way the background colors blend and bleed into each other and your sweet faced girl. Your thoughts remind me how short this life is. I hope my offering is a life lived whole heartedly! Thanks for sharing you with us. 🙂

    1. Thank you so much Geralyn. I actually saw this watercolour tutorial on Youtube and thought I’d try it out.
Oh yes, life really is soooooo short. I remember when I was a child and how adults would talk about the world being small and life being short. I didn’t really understand them at that time. Now, when I think about past experiences, like from childhood, adolescence or my youth, it seems like it was yesterday. Eek.
Yes, may your life be lived whole-heartedly Geralyn. I pray that for you, my friend.
Have a wonderful week and take care.
      🙂

      1. Thank you, Staci. I always find it hard to believe when there’s a reference to the past: ie: such and such happened in 1982 and I think ‘that was just a couple of years ago, that can’t be over 30 years ago.’ May we enjoy every day as it unfolds 🙂

      2. Oh I know, me too. Time just flies by sooooooo fast.
Yes, make the most of every opportunity and moment.
Have a great week, my friend.
        🙂

  3. Staci I’m in love with your art !! Is that digital painting or water colors? It’s so beautiful especially when paired with your words. I can imagine your painting hanging somewhere on my wall, I’m a big fan of your work ! ❤

    1. Awwwwww, thank you so much Zee. Really? You encourage me soooooo much. I painted it with watercolours. The girl I drew on a separate piece of paper and then cut out and glued on to the watercolor. Then I painted the girl, added her skirt with tissue paper, drew the silver loopy line and stenciled in the clock part.
I’m so glad you like this Zee. If you like, I can email you a copy of it for you to print out. Let me know if you would like that ok.
      🙂

      1. Wooowww, it must have taken so much hard work and it totally shows in your painting. I’m awed and blown away by your creativity 🙂

Oh I would LOVE to have it and hang on my wall but I don’t want to take any rights away from you or anything like that. you put so much hard work into this! That is so so sweet of you Staci, you are a beautiful soul ❤ ❤

      2. You are just toooooo sweet Zee. I’m so glad you really like this.
Oh, there would be no problem at all. It would be my pleasure to send this to you. I don’t have any problems at all. If you would like, you can email me at stacilys1 at gmail dot com. That way I can send it directly to you ok. Really. There’s no problem at all, so please feel free to email if you would like a copy ok.
        Take care 🙂 ❤

  4. I love the art and the words, Staci! I love the background, her face and especially her dress! Be sure, all that you’re giving and who you are will be enough!!! ❤

    1. Awwww, thanks so much Sibella. Hehehe. I tried to actually do the dress with oil pastels. Didn’t quite work out so well. Then I got the idea to take some tissue paper and work it into a dress. I was happy with it.
Thanks for such encouraging and kind words Sibella. You’re so sweet.
      🙂 ❤

      1. I thought that was tissue paper! It looks so beautiful. There is actually a fabric that looks just like that it’s kind of silky and crinkled.
Always welcome, my friend! You’re doing an awesome job with your mix media/poetry pieces – i just love it! 🙂

      2. You make my heart smile Sibella. If I ever make it to the States again, I’m definitely coming for a visit. Let’s say…. On a Saturday morning for one of those amazing breakfasts? hahahahaha.
Oh yes, that tissue paper my mom brought when she visited in February. She brought a bunch for Hannah’s birthday gifts. There was a bunch left over and she left them for me.
Thank you so much for the encouragement. It’s comments like yours that makes me want to continue on and grow even more.
Bless you, my friend. You are a jewel.
        🙂 ❤

      3. Please do, and I am making you a queen of all breakfasts LOL !!! 😀 I every make it to Brazil, I’m coming to see you. Please continue your beautiful art and poetry! Love and encouragement flows both ways!!! Have an awesome day, MY FRIEND! 🙂 ❤

      4. Hahaha. WooHoo! It’ll probably be the best breakfast I’ve ever had then. Breakfast fit for a queen. 🙂
Thank you so much for your encouragement, my friend. I will continue with the art and poetry. I’m addicted now. Haha.
You have a great day Sibella and take care.
        🙂 ❤

      5. Exactly, a breakfast fit for a queen! 🙂 Have a great day too, Staci! 🙂

  5. The styling of the art is lovely and calming–it compliments the poem well. The words of this poem definitely makes me think about how I’m living my life now and how I want to live my life moving forward. Thanks for sharing as always 🙂

    1. Thank you so much Crystal. I’m so glad that my poem impacted for good in your life. That’s awesome.
You are more than welcome, my friend.
Take care and have a wonderful week.
      Blessings 🙂

  6. ILOVE how you used tissue paper for her dress! The added texture is so neat. You painted us a lovely picture with your words. An exquisite picture of a holy moment in time. Such a gift, such a gift! The watercolor texture you created is lovely. Xoxo

    1. Hahaha. Oh yes, the tissue paper. I originally tried to use oil pastels for the skirt, but it wasn’t working out so well. Then I thought about using some type of fabric, but couldn’t think of such fabric. Soooooo, then comes the idea for the tissue paper.
Thank you sooooooo much Kirsten. I’m so glad you like this. I’m going crazy with all the great ideas and tutorials on Youtube. I’m going to try a whole ton of them. You’ll probably be seeing them weekly here on my blog. Hahaha. I’m hooked, my friend.
      Blessings. ❤
