Busy, busy, busy

A Monkey's Thoughts

Hey little guy,

what ya doin today?

Not much dear girl,

I thought I’d sway.

From tree to tree,

and to and fro.

And watch the people

down below.

They rush and run,

don’t notice the sun.

They text and talk,

and run, not walk

Inhaling food,

not savouring each bite.

Under a tree,

they’ve lost all sight.

Of what it is

to live each day.

To love and learn,

and rest and play.

To see the gift

each moment brings.

Oh well, dear girl

I’m off to swing.

“The genesis moment is to assume every moment is fresh” –Makoto Fujimura

This poem and photo I have posted before. I have decided to do so again because I am in a season of busyness. Lots and lots and lots of busyness. For this reason, I have decided to take a brief hiatus of about a month in order to focus on getting things done that I so desperately need to.

The following are a few other poetry photos I have taken around my place (and yes, the mico monkeys are real, and we live together 🙂 ).

I will be back on WordPress in about a month.

    1. Ohhhh, hahaha. Thanks so much Chimp. So glad you did, and I really appreciate the encouragement.
As mentioned I will be off of WordPress for about a month, but I’ll still come around and visit you during that time.
      Have a wonderful week.
      🙂

      1. Hey Chimp, I’ve been sending you comments on your posts, but I think you haven’t been receiving them in your notifications. The same thing has been happening with me. Many comments have disappeared from my notifications. I’m just finding and replying to them now by going physically into each post. Gotta love these WP glicks that happen eh.
        🙂

  1. Staci, wishing you well while you get things done. Lovely and thoughtful post! See you in about a month, you will be missed! Please take good care. ~ Mia 🙂

  2. Staci, this is magic! (The poem, not your absence!!) It is totally Dr Seuss for me – the beautiful flow, the cheeky voice that is actually imparting such wisdom. If you don’t mind, I’d like to print it out and read it to my boys tonight before bed – just the sort of thing we love to read.
Im not sure if it’s your thing but, once you have some free time again, I’d recommend submitting this to some of the poetry for children competitions around – it’s a winner.
Enjoy your break, I’m off to swing 🙂

    1. Ryan, I am so humbled by your generous comment. Thank you so much. Really.
Ohhhhh, Dr. Seuss. This takes me back to my childhood. I also have a couple of Dr. Seuss books for my kids. One of them being a big blue book with various Dr. Seuss books within it.
Please do feel free to print out and read with your boys. By all means. I’m so glad that you want to.
That’s a great idea @submitting this to some of the poetry for children competitions around. I think I just might do that. Thank you so much for the suggestion and encouragement.
I will try to enjoy me busy break. Haha.
Love it @I’m off to swing… Swing away.
      🙂

    1. Thank you so much Rose. I have a lot to do, and hope to get it all done during this time.
You have a wonderful week, my friend. 🙂

  3. Beautiful poem, Stacy 🙂
You’re right, people forgot to live. They only run to the finish. But where is the finish? 😦
    Take care of you!

  4. Hi Staci, I can imagine how much the kids love the ‘mico’. How is you drawing class? I guess I have to wait you come back. Have fun whatever you are up to. Take care!

    1. Thanks Mark. I will miss being here too. I can’t wait until things calm down and I can get back to the tranquility of my afternoons and the time I have to blog.
      🙂

  5. Staci, what a beautiful poem and nothing can measure it’s profoundness, it is all in the simplicity of words and thoughts that you have so wonderfully crafted. “Text & Talk”, Rush & Run but not Walk…

Yes, we have stopped going to nature and spending time with nature. And it is such an irony that nature is looking at us and smiling sarcastically at our madness and crazy way of living our life. After all life lies in its moments, the precious moments and in its little things, and we are constantly running behind the big things which are an absolute illusion and we miss the smaller things in life what adds up to making our life so fascinating to live. In LIFE destination has no meaning and the journey is what counts and what makes meaning in our life, nothing is there at the end of life.

It is important to take break in life and taking a break much needed break from the digital distortion and digital immersion, it is essential to a have healthy life. I am so glad that you have decided to take that break “digital detoxification”, if I may be permitted to put it that way and I have been contemplating on the same and waiting for the right opportunity. I will be taking cue from you…

Have a fabulous break and make the most of it…
    Take Care!!!
    😀

    1. Hi Nihar, how are you? It’s been so long since we’ve talked. Once again, so sorry for my delay in responding. My days have been very full, and for this reason I have not been able to be on WordPress, and have taken a break. I’m trying to get a bunch of things resolved here all in a certain space of time, so that I can be freed up to just focus on my blog and work.
Yes, I know you can fully empathize with this one, can’t you? 🙂 It’s so easy to get digitally toxic, isn’t it. Some times we just need to pull away for a detox. Hahaha.
Thank you so much for your thoughtful comment. I will be by your blog today. I opened up to it actually a couple of times, but then wasn’t able to get around to reading anything, thanks to my busyness. But I will definitely be by today.
Thanks again, my friend, and please have a wonderful rest of the week.
      🙂

      1. Hi Staci, great to see you back. Break is so important in today’s life and especially so much of digital distraction. We all get swayed by the demand from the digital space and we immersed in it, there are so many things to do outside the digital space and we have almost forgotten to venture into the nature and do things we have been doing earlier…life is not one dimensional nor it is confined to the virtual world.
I understand it takes time to get back to routine and so many things to do, blog is just one among the many things on card.
Many times it has happened to me, I keep opening the blog but able to read, reading needs mood and focus…we are dearth of these factors which helps us for quality reading.
Hope you had a good break and I looking forward to such breaks, yet to find the right time.
        Have a lovely day.
        😀

      2. Hi Nihar, actually, I am still on a break. Just reading a few blogs here and there when time permits, and also responding to comments. I will probably only be back more regularly at the end of April. I have so much to do right now. I am trying to resolve everything in this time frame. Haha.
So nice to converse with you Bihar. Please have a lovely weekend. 🙂

  6. Aww.. what a beautiful post! Loved it all! Take care and be well dear Staci!!

    1. Awwww, thank you so much Dajeena. I’m so glad you enjoyed it. I have been trying to ‘get down to business’ and deal with all that I need to. I hope to be back to regular blogging by the end of April.
      Hope you are well.
      🙂 ❤

      1. It is always important to do what real life needs vs. virtual one 🙂

      2. Haha, yes I agree Dajeena. So sorry for the delay in responding. I should be up to regular blogging again by the end of the month. Can you believe that I broke my foot on Monday. Bummer. That kind of puts a damper of some of the other things I wanted to get done in this time. Oh well, they’ll have to wait then until another date.
Hope you are well, my friend.
        🙂

      3. OUCH OUCH OUCH!!
please feel better! ❤ Sending you lots of love and prayers! ❤
        ~ Dajena

    1. HI Indah, thank you so much. By the way, I’m taking a photography class on Thursday nights. Yeah! Finally learning a little about my camera that I was almost never using. Hahaha.
      You also take care.
I will be back to regular blogging by the end of April. I’m soooooo busy right now.
      Hope you are well.
      🙂 ❤

  7. I definitely relate to being busy, but I love the first poem and really the messages in all the pieces you’ve included in this post. Sometimes it seems like animals are lucky because they live simply, with not a lot to do. Hopefully we can use them as an example 🙂 I hope all is well Staci and look forward to your return soon!

  8. That poem is so sweet….Sugar 🙂
That’s a meaningful conversation there with mico.

All the very best for ur lagged about stuffs…hope u handle them perfectly ..as u will 🙂
    Stay blessed friend 🙂

    1. Awwwwwwww, Saaransh. Thank you so much for your kind and sweet words. Haha, yes that conversation I’m sure is far too much of a reality for far too many now-a-day. Haha.
Oh yes, I have been busy. I plan on being back to blogging more regularly again by the end of the month. Whew!
You stay blessed too, my fried.
      🙂

    1. Hi Shona. Thank you so much. Nice to meet you.
I am actually on a short break from the blog right now, but will be back by the end of the month. Looking forward to checking your blog out.
      🙂 Staci ♡

    1. Awwww, hahaha. Greeting cards? Thanks Vashti. I guess they could be greeting cards eh. You are so kind with your words, and I sooooo appreciate it.
Have a great day, my friend.
      🙂 ❤
