The Word – Quadrille

The Word – Quadrille on Mixed Media

Have you ever been passionate about something? I mean, like vehemently. I feel like this time in my life is a time of new beginnings. It’s become a fire in me.

It’s been a while since I’ve written an original poem following a poetry form. I had to give my try at this quadrille after reading a fellow bloggers post over at A Reader Writr. ย The poem is in response to a prompt over at dversepoets.

So, back to my question to you: Have you ever been passionate about something? If so, what?

  1. I adore the poem and your brilliant art work! ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜. I am always passionate about almost everything ๐Ÿ˜„๐Ÿ˜„. But lately it has been about nature preservation, anti-racism, and a story I am writing about…well..about Happiness! ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜Š

    • I have to smile Trini. You are one person that I KNOW has a lot of passion. Great things to be passionate about too: Nature preservation and anti-racism. You must tell me more about your story. Are you going to post it?

your poem would sound nicely in French, too… ๐Ÿ˜‰ bonne continuation! ๐Ÿ™‚

    • Melanie, that must have been amazing to live in Paris. I almost had the opportunity to go in September/October last year, but it didn’t fit well into my schedule.
I would love to know how the poem would be in French. I’m sure it would sound like music.
Thanks so much Melanie and please have a lovely weekend.

      • quick translation: ๐Ÿ™‚

        le verbe
        pรฉnรจtre mon esprit
        cachรฉ dans mon coeur
        brille ร  travers mes yeux
        pimente le terne
        รฉcrit sur mon visage
        respirรฉ par mon รขme
        des gouttes de couleur
        la mort de soi
        sent comme de nouveaux commencements,
        un dรฉsir ardent
        une attente passionnรฉe
        qui engendre la vie…
